Allergy Self-Test

This allergy self-test is intended for people who often have to sneeze, have a stuffy nose and/or a burning sensation in the eyes. With an allergy, the immune system reacts against normally harmless substances from the environment (allergens) by means of a hypersensitive reaction.

The allergy test of The Medical Tester gives allergen-specific IgE values for cat hair (e1, epithelium), house dust mites (d1) and grass pollen (g6, Timothy grass) above 0.35 kU/L again,

This allergy test uses antibodies to detect various allergens. The Allergy Test from The Medical Tester, an immunochromatographic rapid test for home use, detects elevated IgE antibody levels specifically against cat hair, house dust mites and grass pollen from a whole blood sample. If the blood sample contains specific IgE antibodies (spec. IgE) against said allergens, they will be bound by allergens. Due to colloid gold-labeled anti-IgE antibodies, this leads to a red visible line on the test cassette.

The reliability of these allergy self-tests is higher than 93.62%. This reliability is determined on the basis of true positive or true negative results and was established after a clinical trial with 265 participants. This allergy self-test achieves comparable results to laboratory tests. There is no need to stop any medication.

Instructions

Open the sealed pouch and remove the test cassette. Place it face up on a clean, dry and flat surface.
Massage and clean your fingertip using the alcohol wipe. Now let the arm hang next to the body for a few minutes to improve the blood circulation in the fingers.
Press the automatic lancing device with the circular opening firmly against the clean fingertip and wait for a drop of blood on the finger.
Pick up the transfer pipette and hold it horizontally against the blood drop to fill the transfer pipette.
Add two drops of blood to the test cassette (S)
Add 2 drops of the buffer to the test cassette (S).
Read the result 10-15 minutes after adding.
