Every year in the Netherlands 1 million Dutch people are bitten by a tick. Lyme disease can affect the nervous system and can also lead to serious neurological disorders. The chronic complaints are reduced in Lyme disease when you treat the disease at the earliest possible stage.
The Lyme Tick Bite self-test of The Tester can measure the presence of antibodies against Borrelia in the blood from 2 to 4 weeks after the tick bite. This period is also called the incubation period. The immune system starts producing antibodies that fight this bacterium after the incubation period has passed. So that is why you can test for the detection of these antibodies after the incubation time.
There may be inflammation and sometimes redness around the bite after the bite. This usually happens 3 to 10 days after the bite, but sometimes it can even occur several weeks and months after the bite. But in more than 50% of cases, a red circle does not appear even though you are infected with the Borrelia bacterium. It is therefore essential that you test yourself.
